Decide in advance whether you need to register for your trip at all; It is safe to pause and return to your normal routine at home.
A worked example
Before a trip there are home readings, at the hotel one value from another scale, and after returning more home readings. Label the hotel point with its situation and time instead of inventing an exact correction between devices. Dates without a scale stay empty. Review shows where the comparable home series ended and resumed. The travel history is retained, but its effect cannot be measured from one unfamiliar-device reading. Changing the chart window does not remove that limitation.
What to do
- 01
Determine the purpose of observation for the period of the trip.
- 02
If you are using someone else's scale, mark the change of device.
- 03
Do not compare your new location directly to your home location without reservation.
- 04
Upon return, collect some routine measurements before withdrawal.
Common mistakes
- Buy or look for scales only for the sake of a continuous series.
- Compensate for road changes with a tough regime.
- Consider a pass as a loss of the entire story.
Mark the change of device and routine
You do not need to find a scale every day merely to keep a line continuous. If you use another device, note it and check its unit. Across time zones, retain actual local time and explain the transition when relevant. Resume the normal procedure at home without reconstructing missed dates. If monitoring follows a medical plan, ask beforehand how to manage it while travelling. Vesometr stores your inputs; it does not calibrate different scales or calculate a correction for an unfamiliar device.
How to check the result
- The device change has an identified date.
- Travel gaps have not been reconstructed from guesses.
- The unfamiliar scale’s unit was checked before entry.
On returning home, use the usual home weighing procedure.
How this works in Vesometr
Vesometr maintains calendar continuity even with empty days; recording can be resumed without restoring numbers from memory.
Sources and fact checking

Weight trends
Charts, a target and period comparisons without judging progress by one number.
Don't use weight changes as the only way to assess your health. Unexplained rapid weight changes, severe swelling, weakness or other worrying symptoms should be discussed with your doctor.
